talenttrends Session Overview

Every session. Every seat. Every waiting list.

talenttrends Session Overview gives learning managers, L&D coordinators and HR business partners a view of every upcoming ILT session — registrations, waiting list depth, capacity utilisation and status in a sortable grid, with one-click return to the Cornerstone admin page. Live from the talenttrends Data Hub. No more clicking through individual session pages.

talenttrends Session Overview

The problem

Capacity planning today means: opening every session individually

Cornerstone knows every ILT session, every registration, every waiting list. But the information is scattered across individual session admin pages. Anyone who needs an overview of next quarter’s training capacity clicks through session by session — or builds a report that is out of date the day after export.

Open every session page individually

To check a session’s registration count, you open its admin page. For an overview of twenty sessions: twenty pages.

Working out utilisation in your head

Deriving utilisation from minimum, maximum and registration numbers — per session, every single time. Error-prone and laborious.

Waiting list depth buried

Where demand exceeds supply only becomes apparent once you navigate deep into a session sub-page or a report. Too late to plan an additional session in time.

End-of-quarter review means building reports

For the steering committee, the capacity overview is assembled manually every quarter — hours no one has.

What you see with it

Reporting 2.0 ends where applications begin

Instead of twenty admin pages, a single planning interface: when the session runs, what it teaches, where it takes place, minimum and maximum capacity, current registrations, waiting list, status — and a visual capacity bar that shows utilisation at a glance.

The grid

Every ILT session a row, all metrics in view — date, event, location, min/max, registrations, waiting list, status. Sortable by any column, scrollable across the whole quarter.

The capacity bar

Colour-coded utilisation per session: green for healthy occupancy, amber as capacity nears its limit, red for overbooked, grey for underbooked. Problems jump out without having to read a figure.

Filter & search

By period, by capacity level (fully booked / underbooked / waiting list present), by status or via free-text search across session name, course code and location. Filters combine — the grid shows exactly the intersection.

Excel export & return jump

The currently filtered view as one click to XLSX, ready for the steering committee. And every session row is a deep link back into the Cornerstone admin page — adjusting capacity, adding an extra date, reassigning a trainer is one click away.

How it works

Connect, embed, plan

01

Connect

Session Overview connects to your Cornerstone portal via the official Cornerstone data interfaces — either via direct API access or via the talenttrends integration from the Cornerstone Edge Marketplace. Session and capacity data land in the talenttrends Data Hub, which Session Overview works on.

02

Embed

Embedded in your Cornerstone portal as a custom page. Single sign-on via Cornerstone itself — no second login. You determine who may see the grid via the visibility rules of the custom page — typically the L&D team, HR business partners and training coordination.

03

Plan

The grid opens with the next few months of upcoming sessions. Filter, sort, search — and where a problem becomes visible, jump directly into the Cornerstone admin page with a click and resolve it. For reporting: export the filtered view as Excel.

The technology

Fast, read-only, no detours

Session Overview runs in productive Cornerstone projects where we take responsibility ourselves. This is what’s behind it.

Live from the Data Hub

Session Overview works against your replicated data foundation, not against Cornerstone live APIs. No API throttling, no rate limits, full performance even during Cornerstone maintenance windows.

Read-only and parameterised

Fixed, versioned queries that ship with the application — not generated at runtime, not synthesised by an AI, not changeable via the interface. Strictly read-only. Session Overview cannot change data under any circumstances.

Filter with no wait

One query loads the visible time window; sorting, searching and filtering then respond instantly, without another database query. The interface stays smooth even with many sessions.

Excel export on demand

The filtered view is assembled server-side into an XLSX file, with column headings in the user’s language, and streamed directly to the browser — no persistent storage of the export files at talessio.

Deep link without proxy

The return to the Cornerstone admin page leads directly to Cornerstone — not routed via talessio infrastructure. The action itself (capacity, dates, trainer) happens in Cornerstone, where it belongs.

No third party, no data leak

The grid renders via a single authenticated channel — no third-party CDN fetches, no telemetry leaks, no transmission of data to third-party services.

Prerequisites

What you should coordinate with us

Session Overview is a planning tool for the operational L&D function. Three points that we clarify together with you during onboarding.

Cornerstone setup

Session Overview needs data access to your Cornerstone portal — either via activated Cornerstone data interfaces and a dedicated service account, or via the talenttrends integration from the Cornerstone Edge Marketplace. The latter is the faster route, because authentication and scope are pre-configured.

Narrow down the audience

Session Overview shows capacity data at session level — aggregated figures per session, no detail on individual employees. That makes it a tool for L&D planning and HR. Via the Micro App’s visibility rules, you narrow access down to precisely this audience.

Account for co-determination

In Germany, introducing a technical system with employee-related data can trigger co-determination rights for the works council. Because Session Overview only shows aggregated capacity data and does not assess individuals, the scope is smaller than for person-related applications — but you still clarify the consultation within your usual processes. We provide the documentation.

Deployment

Your data, your infrastructure

Session Overview runs on the talenttrends platform and follows its three hosting paths — from our cloud to your own data centre.

SaaS with talessio

Fully operated by us. Fastest time-to-value. Hosting in Azure Germany West Central or with STACKIT — EU data residency, Schrems II-compliant.

In your cloud

Deployment in your own cloud subscription — Azure, AWS, GCP or OpenStack. Full control over network and data residency.

On-Premises

Runs in your own data centre. Maximum control. Your data never leaves your infrastructure.

Details under Security & Compliance. Details on hosting choice, responsibilities and migration between models can be found under Cloud & On-Premises.
