talenttrends Micro Apps extend Cornerstone where standard functions are not enough — as standalone applications that are embedded in your Cornerstone portal and build on your Data Hub and Integration Layer. From the catalogue, tailor-made or developed in-house.
The problem
Customising is surface. You need applications.
The Cornerstone standard covers a lot, but not everything. When your needs go beyond what standard workflows can do, the makeshift work begins: welcome pages and custom pages bring UI adjustments, but no logic. Reporting 2.0 shows data, but doesn’t make it interactive. Separate applications alongside Cornerstone mean a second login, a second data path and a second maintenance burden.
Custom pages are static
You can adjust layout, branding and content, but you can’t carry real application logic. As soon as you want to filter, join, validate or write, the custom-page world ends.
Reporting 2.0 ends where applications begin
Tables and diagrams are not the same as a workflow. You can show data, but you can’t guide your users through a process.
Live API accesses are slow
Anyone who wants to process Cornerstone data in an application and goes live via the APIs struggles with rate limits, throttling and unpredictable response times. Unusable for user-facing applications.
Extensions need context
Another login, another auth system, another data copy, another system that someone has to maintain. The original platform idea dissolves.
